Does that title sound ironic, funny, dumb, stupid etcetera? Well, it's true for all those who feel that way. I hate Valentine's Day. Not because I do not have a boyfriend, not because I am a loner, not because I hate to cuddle up by myself in my bed. Strike, strike, strike.
I hate Valentine's Day because it's just a day in February when lovers choose to make their private life public by eating each other's faces (or smooching, in polite terms) in public and that's gross.
I am not Anti-love, just Anti-Valentine. Why do you choose one day in a whole year to show your love? What happens to true love after that? Is it just for one day!? I don't think so.
As far as I have seen, learnt and read true love is supposed to be forever and not just for one day i.e. February 14th.
It's really weird that people chose February 14th of all the days in the year. Why? There are so many questions unanswered. Like I read somewhere,
"One day in February isn't special. You are."
Now, that's true. Is your loved one supposed to be special or Feb 14th? Now, I am not saying that every lover should be beaten to death just because they are making out on February 14th. We should understand the concept of love which is very wrong when we talk about the so called Gen-X. Ask them what's love and they'll come up with all kinds of answers which point to the fact that they do not know the meaning of love (well, most of them). So why do we all show off so much? Don't we already have iPods, cellphones and other tech stuff to show off? Why show off love of all feelings? It's really sad that we do this. Most of the people going out do what I mentioned above. Does that make you feel any cooler, better, nicer? What if you are not serious and the other person is? Won't you love it if you break her/his heart? Won't it be so cool to show off that he/she was such a wannabe and such a loser that he/she was deeply committed in a relationship? Oh, what fun!
I do not deny that I am a part of the Gen-x but I am not like those who love for showing off. At least, I don't think I am like that and I'll try my best not to be like that, ever.
Signing off on a lovely note,
sarcastically moody,
me.
p.s: i didn't go through this post twice, so if you find anything wrong please be kind enough to point it out for me.
kthnx.
and Happy Valentine's Day (scowls).
